Project Architect / Project Manager

Join our dynamic team at Colley Architects, a small architectural firm dedicated to creating innovative and sustainable spaces. With a track record of delivering exceptional projects across residential, commercial, and institutional sectors, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of design excellence while prioritizing client satisfaction and environmental stewardship.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Architect to lead our project teams through all phases of design and construction. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of architectural expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, from concept development through to construction administration.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand project goals, objectives, and requirements, and translate them into actionable project plans.

  • Lead project teams, including architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors, to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to optimize efficiency and profitability.

  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with design intent and industry standards.

  • Facilitate client meetings, presentations, and workshops to review design proposals, solicit feedback, and make informed decisions.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project team and the broader organization.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance project delivery and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution.

  • Professional licensure as an architect preferred; or, on an active path to becoming licensed in Virginia.

  • Proven experience managing architectural projects of varying scales and complexities, preferably within a design or architecture firm.

  • Proficiency in project management software such as AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive client relationships and resolve conflicts effectively.

  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles, building codes, and regulations.
